Crust ingredients:
- 6 cups flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups cold butter
- 8 eggs
- 3 cups sugar
- 3 cups light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 3 teaspoons vanilla
- 5 cups chopped pecans
- In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt
- Cut in butter until crumbly
- Press into the bottom and up the sides of 2 greased 15 x 10 x 1 baking pans
- Bake at 350 for 18-22 minutes until edges are brown and bottom sets
- Combine eggs, sugar, corn syrup, butter, and vanilla in large bowl and mix well
- Stir in pecans
- Pour over crust
- Bake 25-30 minutes until edges are firm and center is almost set
- Cool on wire racks and cut into bars
- Refrigerate until serving
